Eve Lom

Cleanser

4 out of 5 stars.

Excessive Dryness

Age 25 to 34

Medium

This is one of my all time favourite cleansers! Gentle, clarifying and detoxing...my eczema-prone skin loves it!!! I know most people freak out introducing an essential oil with sensitive or broken skin, but in my experience, nature is the best medicine!!!It helps brighten by stimulating blood flow to the face (especially when you follow Eve Lom's lymphatic drain instructions...google it!). It makes my skin feel supple, and it looks visibly brighter! A little disclaimer to those with congestion...it *will* make you purge thanks to the potent essential oils within this product...also notable instruction I to make sure you are thoroughly washing this off, possibly even following with an AHA/BHA cleanser. For those with sensitive or dry skin, a lactic or mandelic acid cleanser...Because it is quite pricey, I do only utilise this once a week when I do a more intense at home routine, or after wearing heavy makeup. It melts waterproof makeup beautifully, without making your skin feel raw. A must in every cabinet!!!!

Fine Lines And Wrinkles

The eve lom cleanser seems to be one of those products that people either love or hate! After trailing this in their travel set I was sold. It’s so lush! Leaves my skin feeling plump and nourished and almost feels like a cleanser and skincare in one. The smell is strong (eucalyptus being a major player) but I really love it. I could see how it could be too much for some people though if you were sensitive to smell. Get a trial and do the hot cloth cleanse they recommend in the instructions. It’s so relaxing and nurturing.

Breakouts/Acne

Age 25 to 34

Olive

I love this product! I was concerned that it would cause breakouts, as I had this issue with other oil/balm cleansers, but it is definitely not the case. It cleared my sensitive, breakout-prone skin and removes all the make-up without drying the skin. The smell is calming and relaxing.

I’ve been using this irregularly for 18months and in the last six months almost daily. I sampled some other balm cleansers because I really like A double cleanse routine. Nothing came close to the clean and still calm and hydrated feeling of this balm. I have acne prone skin so was hesitant to use an oil based product but I have not had any issues at all. Feels like a mini facial every time I wash my face.

Although this did the job for getting makeup off and cleansing the skin, I didn’t see any long term effects or changes in my skin while using this. It did also give me small bumps around my jaw line and hair line. Won’t be buying again

Rosacea

I tried it numerous times and unfortunately, I did not love this. The smell is too strong and I had a thick film on my skin afterwards. I have tried many other popular balms like Emma Hardie, Elemis and Clinique, and I prefer them.

Enlarged Pores

Age 35 to 44

I had high hopes for this cleanser, but have not been overly impressed. It's ok to apply, but just doesn't have that lovely cleansed feeling on your face. Also I don't feel like my skin is nice and glowy and cleansed like I was hoping

This has been my holy grail cleanser but recently the formula is different. I got a very grainy batch and Mecca staff informed me it was with in the range of normal. They kindly replaced it though but the replacement was also grainy. Yes, you can melt most of the grains by rubbing it between your fingers, but it’s almost impossible to get them all to melt. I feel like I also end up using more product. For the price this is really disappointing. Will not purchase again. It’s sad because I really loved this cleanser.

Pigmentation

I switched to oil and balm cleansers a few years ago and have seen a definite improvement in my blemish prone but ageing skin ever since. Although I’ve heard amazing things about this cleanser I didn’t expect it would make a noticeable difference to my skin, given I’m already on board with balm cleansers. I was wrong. This beautiful product is a joy to use and I wake up each morning and think “holy $)/@, is that my skin?” Converted.

I was travelling in Rome with a very basic skin care regime and the weather was far too harsh. I grabbed the mini (after receiving it in my beauty loop box) mid-travels and it was life changing! My skin is brighter, complexion even, with no dryness & zero blemishes. My holiday makeup routine wasn’t even needed beyond sunscreen & a bit of mascara! I honestly think this might be the holy grail of skincare. I will not be without it!
