Glossier

Milky Jelly Cleanser

5 out of 5 stars.

Enlarged Pores

Age 17-24

i've always wanted to try out this cleanser. I was in need of a new cleanser so I decided to get the mini to test it out. I have acne scars, pores, and oily skin. This cleanser really does the job on cleansing the oils on my skin and it doesn't leave my skin dry. I've also noticed that it helped pigmentation on my skin. One thing i don't like is the smell. It has this chemically smell to me but i think that's because of the rosewater.

Pigmentation

Age 25-30

I have normal skin that if anything my only struggle is redness/weird pigmentation from inflammation. I only get acne if I'm not washing my face. I've tried so many skincare washes over the years and many bland ones "for normal skin" tend to make me break out, smell really bad, or are overpriced and don't have a good texture that I might as well struggle and use dove bar soap. This one's a good value - no scents or dyes, nothing unnecessary, just regular face wash that's gentle and good for daily use. If you have oily skin I'd think it might not cut it, but for those of us with normal or combination skin it's good

Enlarged Pores

Age 17-24

A day without Milky Jelly is...a bad day. My skin has never reacted so positively to a facial cleanser in my life. I have sensitive, combination skin with easily clogged pores - meaning, I break out super easily and am prone to sebum build up. This cleanser has been a game changer. It was the moisturizing, gentle make-up remover-slash-face-wash that my skin never knew it needed. I use this on it's own as a cleanser in the morning and if my skin is feeling really dry, or I use as part one of a double cleanse nightly. I refuse to ever be without Milky Jelly. I also adore the smell, luxurious texture and minimal-aesthetic bottle (with a great pump mechanism).

Sensitivity

Age 17-24

I have really sensitive skin, like if I've even tried cetaphil which is supposed to be great for it but it broke me out. I thought I'd try this out when I was buying solution so I thought why not. It's amazing. SO smooth and gentle enough to not cause break outs but still strong enough to get rid of the dirt and gunk in my pores after a long day. If you're gonna buy anything from glossier it would be this.

Sensitivity

Age 17-24

Made my skin soooo soft and has a nice delicate scent. My skin is fairly sensitive and it didn't cause any problems! I've used it 3 times so far and i think it might be a new Holy Grail! Really makes me want to try the priming moisturizer.

Sensitivity

Age 25-30

Light

After reading great reviews on this, decided to give it a go. Used it the first time and woke up the next morning with significant breakouts all over my forehead, chin, and jawline. I don’t have acne aside from a single pimple popping up here or there, I also don’t have sensitive but I figured it could just be a coincidence. So I stopped using this, let my skin clear, and decided to try again last night. Lo and behold, this morning, breakouts AGAIN on my forehead and jaw… I have never had my skin look this bad, so disappointed. Terrible.

Breakouts/Acne

Age 31-40

Light

I've never, ever been disappointed in glossier. Yet, here I am, 2 months into using this product and my acne has never been worse. When the first few zits appeared, I thought to myself, "It cannot possibly be the glossier cleanser!" and cut all dairy and sugar for a month in attempts to calm my inflamed and volcanic face situation. This was a good decision for my body anyway, but the acne remained, nay, worsened! I thought this cleanser might be the gentler sister of the beloved solution, however I was woefully mistaken. The good news is is that I know the solution will have my skin glowing and recovered in no-time. After even 3 days without using this cleanser, I already see redness fading and spots beginning to recede.

I’ve been using this daily and have started getting huge pimples in areas I usually never get acne! Thought it was temporary but it’s been months since I started using the cleanser concentrate and the pimples keep coming. Definitely won’t be using it any longer. Gonna stick with my milky jelly cleanser.

Excessive Oiliness

Age 25-30

Unfortunately I have oily skin and find that this product creates much more oil on my face. I do like the feel and the smell, but by mid-day my face was an oily mess. I have other cleansers that I feel help control the oil way more than this one. I think that this cleanser is designed to give a dewy look and if you have dry skin it is probably incredible for you, just not for the oily skinned folks out there. Maybe i'll be able to use it in the winter when my skin is a little dryer.

Enlarged Pores

Age 17-24

I absolutely love this product for removing makeup, specifically mascara. It doesn't burn your eyes but totally gets the job done. BUT I wouldn't recommend it for a regular cleansing. Personally I don't feel like it cleaned out my pores, and my skin didn't feel super fresh after washing it.

The facial cleanser I usually use was sold out for weeks, so I decided to try this out because I like a lot of Glossier's products. It doesn't give you that good after-cleanse feeling like your face is clean, even though it does cleanse as long as you use water and really scrub your face. I didn't use this as part of a two-step process though. It lasts about a month and a half using 2-3 pumps twice a day. My face was clearing up a lot before I started using this product. While this product didn't cause immediate cystic acne, it caused whiteheads and pustules twice a week or so (while beforehand I got a pimple every other week or so). About a month in, some of those pimples became cystic acne, rather than those pimples going away. CosDNA says that the ingredient Isopropyl Myristate in this product is a pore-clogging ingredient. Anyway, would not recommend, there are way better cleansers that work, feel good to use, and won't cause acne for cheaper per fl oz.
