The Ordinary

Glycolipid Cream Cleanser

4 out of 5 stars.

Enlarged Pores

19-29

Light/Medium

This is a very unique cleanser. I've never came across something that felt like this before. Out of the tube, it felt kind of similar to the squalane cleanser but watery-er(?) and when you apply it it almost felt like a lotion that's being absorbed into your skin, or that it's fastly drying out which was alarming at first. But it does rinse off nicely and I always feel clean afterwards. It does not dry out my skin and it feels quite gentle. Not sure how to feel about the way it applies, I think some people might not like how un "cleanser like" it feels. But I like it. Been using it for a week now since I ordered it early when it was available for O.lab

I use the double cleanse method, and this worked out perfectly as the first step! Whether it’s removing skincare plus spf, skincare plus spf and makeup, or in the morning after slugging at night, rinses clean, and then I follow up with TO foaming cleanser. And it smells like coconuts, but I don’t know how seeing as it doesn’t look like there is any form of coconut in it without a doubt. I’m so happy to find a new cleanser for my step one.

I received this about a week ago and I am in love with it. I still love the squalane cleanser and I will use that in the winter months but this one is my new go to for the spring and summer. I don’t wear makeup so I can’t comment on how it works for that.

Sun Damage

Love this, it's such a gentle cleanser that's perfect for sensitive or sensitized skin. I would get periodic acid peels as part of my skincare routine and skin can be very sensitized afterward - this is so gentle it really takes care of skin in the initial days. It doesn't sting the eyes, has a neutral scent, and is perfect.

Excessive Dryness

I love The Ordinary for giving us solid products doing their jobs as advertised. I was sceptical about the non-stripping aspect, but it's works so well. I have sensitive combination skin and it can be difficult to find the right balance, but this one cleanses well and is very gentle to the skin at the same time.

I can't use soap on my face at all (it makes my skin dry up and break out terribly), so I have been using soapless cleansers for years. I got this for free the last time I ordered a few other products from The Ordinary that are in my regular rotation. As someone with sensitive, reactive skin, trying a new product is always hit or miss, but seeing that it was a soapless cleanser I had to try it. I love it! If you follow the directions (ie massage it into DRY skin then rinse it off with warm water) it takes most makeup off beautifully. For heavier makeup you will still need a separate makeup remover, but that is true of all cleansers! This cleanser leaves my skin feeling clean and healthy. I do find it just a touch drying, but I compensate by going heavier on moisturizer at night and that works like a charm. I will be rebuying this, for sure.

Glucoside Foaming Cleanser

I received this product from The Ordinary and was able to try it early. I like this cleanser as a daily/nightly regiment because it is gentle and leaves my skin feeling clean. I can tell the difference between my skin being dull and maintaining moisture when used with my skin care regimen. It's not the best cleanser I've ever used but it is gentle and effective.

I didn’t realize that this cleanser didn’t clean off eye makeup. I just assumed☹️. I also find it a little drying. My skin feels slightly tight after usage.

it is the worst cleanser I ever used. I don't have sensitive skin and it striped my skin bad. It should read only use as an exfoliate cleanser. Or you will have severe red stripped skin. Im a makeup artist and a skin specialist.

Excessive Oiliness

30-39

Very Fair

I have combination skin that is sensitive. And the oily parts of my skin get VERY oily, so this seemed like a good option. But whatever it is in this cleanser clearly reacted poorly with my skin as it immediately resulted in significant breakouts for me. The breakouts only started and continued with the cleanser, which I gave a try for 4 days, and then immediately cleared up when I stopped it again. I was not introducing any other changes to my skincare routine during that time.

The Ordinary has been a staple on my routine since always so when they released this I was super excited cause my LaRochePosay Efflaclar foaming cleanser was running out. This cleanser is gentle but does not foams as other foaming cleansers. When I use it after waking up, I have to double cleanse as my face does not feel clean after one wash. Also, it should come in a bigger presentation cause cleansers are an everyday thing and 150 ml is not gonna cut it. It does not dry out my skin which I like.

Purchased this product in Selfridges. As a man I prefer a foaming cleanser and I have found deciem cleansers to not be upto much. Unfortunately neither is this cleanser. You have to use a lot of the product to actually get any foam. We have soft water in our house yet this product does not foam up much neither does it feel like it’s cleaning my skin as well as other products from other companies. I will be returning this. Deciem still does not do a cleanser good enough for male skin
