The Ordinary

Squalane Cleanser

4 out of 5 stars.

Excessive Dryness

Under 18

Light

My skin gets very oily on the surface and peels underneath, I started using the cleanser with a Vichy acne moisturizer and my skin finally feels like it’s going to fall off and disintegrate, definitely recommend (however it is not the best for clearing acne) Recommends this product ✔ Yes

Excessive Oiliness

Light Medium

This cleanser is gentle but super effective. I was a little hesitant to try it and thought it might leave my skin oily, but the opposite is true. I think the fact it's gentle and doesn't strip the skin means that my face produces less oil throughout the day, which means I'm less greasy and shiny. It hasn't irritated my mild eczema. I love a lot of The Ordinary products, but I'm especially happy with this one! Recommends this product ✔ Yes

I was never one to use skin products and then someone suggested the ordinary to start off with and I haven’t looked back since. It leaves my skin flawless and smooth.Would 10/10 recommend :) Recommends this product ✔ Yes

Squalane Cleanser

Fine Lines and Wrinkles

This is my absolute favorite and I cannot live without it. All cleansers leave my face feeling tight and dry and itchy, but because this has that oily texture, it really helps leave my skin feeling soft and shiny. It also does an ok job at removing makeup. Recommends this product ✔ Yes

I've been using another cleanser for literally 15 years (Eve Lom) but the price has gone up so much recently that I just couldn't justify it any longer. I've been searching for a new balm/oil type of cleanser, because I like the thorough cleanse you get with a balm. I have tried loads over the last year but FINALLY I have found The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser and this is the one :) I find this cleanses really well, I have used a micellar water on cotton wool afterwards and there is no remaining make-up on the cotton wool. It took me a minute to realise you have to warm it in your hands and on your face until it turns really slippy, but once I got that everything made sense. I don't wear loads of make-up, but it does take off eyeliner and the light foundation which I use just fine, with a single application. It makes my skin feel really smooth and plumped afterwards. I am literally over the moon that my cleanser costs have gone from £90 for 200ml to £13.90 for 150ml. Great product! Recommends this product ✔ Yes

I've struggled with a combo of acne and eczema since I was a child and had a mother who was very into makeup and skincare so I got started on a skincare regimen at a young age. I've tried hundreds of products since I was in middle school. I've even tried a few products from the ordinary in the past but didn't find them effective. Now I believe that the ineffectiveness was mostly due to my own lifestyle factors. When I moved out for college I realized that my lifestyle really plays a part in how my skin looks and feels (diet, exercise, and especially stress). I began using completely natural products including oil cleansing and following with a gentle soap. After a couple years of this I found that it got the job done, but it was a lot of work and I felt like my skin could still improve quite a bit. So I finally decided to try the ordinary again, knowing that they use the bare essentials in their products, which makes me feel good, and I know won't flare up my sensitivities. I also remembered liking the texture of this product when I tried it as a teen. I'm so glad I tried it again!!!! It's like oil cleansing but easier and with better results! The key is to really massage it in before rinsing. I've been using it for a few weeks now and I genuinely get excited to was my face because I love it so much. My skin feels so hydrated and clean! This is seriously the only cleanser I will ever use!!!! Recommends this product ✔ Yes

I received this product from The Ordinary and was able to try it early. I like this cleanser as a daily/nightly regiment because it is gentle and leaves my skin feeling clean. I can tell the difference between my skin being dull and maintaining moisture when used with my skin care regimen. It's not the best cleanser I've ever used but it is gentle and effective.

I didn’t realize that this cleanser didn’t clean off eye makeup. I just assumed☹️. I also find it a little drying. My skin feels slightly tight after usage.

it is the worst cleanser I ever used. I don't have sensitive skin and it striped my skin bad. It should read only use as an exfoliate cleanser. Or you will have severe red stripped skin. Im a makeup artist and a skin specialist.

I have combination skin that is sensitive. And the oily parts of my skin get VERY oily, so this seemed like a good option. But whatever it is in this cleanser clearly reacted poorly with my skin as it immediately resulted in significant breakouts for me. The breakouts only started and continued with the cleanser, which I gave a try for 4 days, and then immediately cleared up when I stopped it again. I was not introducing any other changes to my skincare routine during that time.

The Ordinary has been a staple on my routine since always so when they released this I was super excited cause my LaRochePosay Efflaclar foaming cleanser was running out. This cleanser is gentle but does not foams as other foaming cleansers. When I use it after waking up, I have to double cleanse as my face does not feel clean after one wash. Also, it should come in a bigger presentation cause cleansers are an everyday thing and 150 ml is not gonna cut it. It does not dry out my skin which I like.

Purchased this product in Selfridges. As a man I prefer a foaming cleanser and I have found deciem cleansers to not be upto much. Unfortunately neither is this cleanser. You have to use a lot of the product to actually get any foam. We have soft water in our house yet this product does not foam up much neither does it feel like it’s cleaning my skin as well as other products from other companies. I will be returning this. Deciem still does not do a cleanser good enough for male skin
