Literally rub it on my face for a few seconds and takes off makeup completrly even waterproof eyeliner/mascara.I have combination skin, so oily (blackheads) and eczema and this allows me to use harsh active ingredients eg retinoid or salicylic acid without drying my skin out. I purchased the 50 ml recently to try. So far, I have always followed with the foaming or cream cleanser. But today, I was going on a trip and decided to try this as my makeup remover as I didn’t have the travel size Clinique balm on hand. Boy, am I blown!! It took everything off (foundation, blush, mascara, the works) in one go. I did not need the foaming cleanser either. I’m so sold, I’m ordering the large bottle now. Another win for TO!! I’m not sure if I’m using it wrong, but it never really felt like it cleaned my face. I always had to scrub with a face cloth to get my face to feel clean after using this. But scrubbing irritates me face. After a few months of using this (along with the anhydrous salicylic acid) I noticed more inflamed breakouts and congestion such as blackheads and whiteheads. I followed directions. Used it on a dry face. Rubbed the cleanser between my hands before applying. I would rub the cleaner until it became clear in colour, but after reading more reviews here, I wonder if I didn’t rub the cleanser in my hands enough. Recently I started using it again and I am rubbing it more vigorously between my hands first. I do notice that the cleanser feels oilier the more I rub, and the oilier I feels before applying, the better it seems to cleanse my face. I’ll update my review if it doesn’t break me out with this time.

Used for two weeks and have never had such congestion buildup ,felt like it didn't cleanse whatsoever and left a oily feeling on the skin. Everyone is diff but I say don't take the chance on this one Recommends this product ✘

Disclaimer I have always used face wash or foaming cleanser as I like my skin to feel clean. I'm new to anything oily and frankly I don't get this at all! I massage it in and then rinse off but my hands and face are still coated with oil. It might remove make up but my face it now very oily so to remove that I need an emulsifying face wash to remove that which adds an unnecessary step. What a shame. I don't get how people love this so much. I wish they'd make a proper face wash! Recommends this product ✘

So I bought this cleanser and have been using it RELIGIOUSLY because I know that consistency is key with skin care… my skin feels amazing after I use it but I’m finding that not even halfway through the day my skin looks like I have gone my entire life without washing it. My skin will look SO OILY and greasy. Perhaps the ordinary can give me some tips or offer a different product to use instead… I’ll walk into the bathroom halfway through my day and feel so embarrassed about how oily my skin looks… a problem I did not have before switching to products from the ordinary. I don’t want to give up hope though so I’m pushing through… Recommends this product ✘

I bought this a few weeks ago along with the moisturizer, matrixyl and niacinamide as my skin is acne prone. I normally used a Garnier cleanser which is cheap and simple and does tge trick but I felt like spoiling myself with some ‘luxury’ products and take my skincare to the next level. I HAVE NEVER HAD SO MANY BREAKOUTS IN MY LIFE! The so called cleanser clogged my pores and is oily to the point you could almost use it for deep frying chips. Recommends this product ✘
