The Ordinary

Squalane Cleanser

5 out of 5 stars.

Breakouts/Acne

19-29

Very Fair

I have acne prone skin and it is also sensitive. Due to the actives I use (adapalene, azeleic acid) many cleansers are irritating or too drying. This cleanser is very helpful to cleanse my face without making it red and irritated or too dry. It does not break me out, and my skin looks much calmer since using it. I do end up needing to use a lot of product in order for it to completely remove my sunscreen, but I prefer that than have it be overly stripping. Recommends this product ✔ Yes

Excessive Oiliness

Perfect cleanser. I use this as my first step when I double cleanse. It emulsifies makeup perfectly. You have to make sure you rub it in your dry hands for 10 seconds to warm it up. Then it glides over the skin. The more you rub it in, the more makeup melts away and can be washed off with your second cleanser. I use a gentle non-foaming cream cleanser after this and my skin feels clean but not stripped. Recommends this product ✔ Yes

I am honestly so confused to read negative reviews. The best cleanser for your skins is a nonfoaming one regardless of your skin type according to dermatologists. The problem with Cerave and other non-foaming ones is that they Don’t Clean Your Skin.. This one is soo amazing. I apply it to my dry face and massage it for a minute. After I add water and the cleanser becomes white as I continue to massage my face and clean it completely off with water. Once I dry my skin with a towel, my skin is soft, VERY CLEAN, balanced and so happy. My skin type is oily and acne prone. By the way, my sister adores it too and her skin type is dry. Enlarged Pores

I personally only use this as a first cleanse at night, before my regular gel/foaming cleanser and it does an amazing job at removing makeup & sunscreen. Emulsifies well and rinses clean without leaving any residue or film. I love the creamy balm texture, it melts down into an oil nicely and honestly performs better than a lot of more expensive balm cleansers that I’ve tried. You can definitely use it as a cleanser on its own, but if you’re wearing makeup I recommend following up with a regular cleanser after this! I will repurchase this stuff forever! Glycolipid Cream Cleanser

Fine Lines and Wrinkles

Neither makeup nor my mascara come off properly. I stick with my the Orrdinary Squalane Cleanser. This cleans perfectly. The smell also makes me sick. I would be interested to know if others feel the same way. It's a shame, it's the first product from TO that I don't find perfect.

Enlarged Pores

Light/Medium

I bought it cause I was really in need of a cleanser that can also remove my very light makeup that I use for work daily, sadly it doesn't remove makeup right away, I have to use it two or even three times to see my face a bit cleaner but traces of makeup are still there.

Hey, I've used two or three tubes of this and I like it on my skin (though harder to use when my hands and bathroom are cold) but it never takes my eye makeup off like I thought it would. I don't use waterproof products but it's just not good for removing mascara. Anybody has a tip what to combine this with to get a nice double-cleansing effect? Recommends this product ✔ Yes
