Glossier

Milky Jelly Cleanser

Enlarged Pores

Age 25-30

Wow. I can safely say I have never felt compelled to review a face wash before. However, I’ve had the little bumps on my nose of clogged pores for as long as I can remember. Not even nose strips would prove to be a solution. But using this wash in the am&pm has completely changed my skin. It is so clean and soft to the touch. I am in love.

I started using this in the summer paired with a hyaluronic acid mist and its the best combo ever. This is very gentile and is so good to just clear up my skin. Occasion breakouts due to being a teenager stopped because of this. My skin is the clearest it has ever been right now. I definitely still recommend a moisturizer after this though.

As someone who has struggled with highly sensitive skin for my whole life, and a past bout of serious cystic acne, I am someone who highly values a gentle but effective cleanser. Now that my skin is more combination, I wanted something conditioning in the winter environment, but also not comedogenic and overly scented. So when my mom surprised me with a bottle of milky jelly cleanser, I had to try it. I washed my face twice a day with this lovely, and subtly rosy wash, looking forward to the skincare moments of my day. The texture is so fun, and the scent is to die for! It is delicate and barely there but the slight rush of the rosewater into your nose just makes more of an experience. And my skin- before it was dull, even a little grayish. After milky jelly, I have lovely glowy skin, and my skin feels bouncy. Milky jelly kickstarted my Glossier addiction and I can't go back. If you are hesitant, get the mini and try this amazing product. You will never EVER be able to go back!

Dullness

Age 31-40

Ok so, I don't leave reviews but ever since the day glossier started to shipped to the UK I've reordered this three times so I had to share my experiences with this cleanser. I'm 21, suffering from acne scars and the occasional breakout, my skin care literally consists of this cleanser, coconut oil and aveeno lotion as moisturiser. I wash my face TWICE with this cleanser and it removes everything I have on. I can say it's reduced the appearance of my new scars but this of course is a very a very slow process. I've seen improvements in my skin texture and it's helped me clear some small bumps I've always had! If you're still not sure, I encourage you to get a sample when you're getting something else maybe from their cosmetic range! You might love it!

So I loved this product. For about 4 years. To the point that I've bought for 6 of my friends when I noticed they needed some skin hugs. Then I started to get bored I guess of having good skin? And wanted to feel stupid?? Alsoooo, COVID was making shipping a real butt hat. So I started trying other popular cleansers... that lasted for 3 months before I was just like forget this. I went back to my Glossier goodness. She's honestly perfect. And it took less than a week to get to me. Within a week my skin has calmed down and just feeling balanced!!!

I love this product. It's more gentle than soap and can be used in the shower, which is perfect as taking make up off is such a bore! I don't wear much make up, but it effectively removes it all.

Excessive Dryness

found this to be super drying, even using just 1-2 times a week my skin would be flaky afterward. I don’t usually have dry skin so was surprised. I probably would not reccomend or purchase again.

Excessive Dryness

I typically don’t have sensitive skin, rarely ever have a bad reaction to new products but this was way too harsh. Dried my skin out after only one use, haven’t used the product in a week and my skin is still recovering in several dry patches. Caused my face to be really itchy and sting in reaction to my normal products.

So, after experimenting for several months, this product actually increased my acne dramatically. I maybe get one small pimple during my period, but I love a squeaky clean feeling face and this cleanser gave that feeling after. I didn't mind the medicinal smell, and I liked the tacky feeling after. But apparently some skin doesn't like niacinamide and I think that's me. Bummer.

I had to stop using the Milky Jelly Cleanser because I developed an allergic reaction to rosewater - I wish brands in general would stop using this ingredient in so many skincare products, but I digress. Initially, I was very excited to try out Cleanser Concentrate, but it seems that my skin does not agree with Glossier's cleanser formulas. My skin type is combination, but also sensitive and acne prone, and this product would always make my skin beet red, and I was guaranteed a few new breakouts the next day. This cleanser is also not as soothing as the claims say it is, and I don't think it does a good job of maintaining skins moisture either. The end result is quite drying, which is to be expected for exfoliating acids of this nature, but this is advertised as a more gentle variant, but there wasn't much difference between this, and other strong chemical exfoliators that I've tried. Overall, I'm disappointed. If the G team do plan to expand their range of cleansers, please consider a cleansing oil or balm - preferably without rosewater of any kind.

I really love a lot of glossier and I’ve tried most of their products. But this seems to irritate my skin and I don’t know if my skin is sensitive to it or it’s the product it’s self but I don’t think you should get it if you think your skin is sensitive. It does feel nice right after but every time I try to use it again it makes me break out.

I am the biggest Glossier fan ever and so sad that this product just has not worked for me. My acne has been under control for a long time now, with the occasional hormonal mini outbreak. Since using this as my main cleanser for around a month, my acne has been horrendous. My chin and hairline by my cheeks is the worst. I feel so relieved reading some of the comments here to know how to hopefully change this. I’ve purchased some old products and already seeing a difference. Will continue to love Glossier but this product sadly just isn’t for me!
